Finally, my favorite post of the week! Every Sunday I take some of the photos that you have uploaded to the Facebook wall, and I post them here. I love This is Beautiful You because it gives me (and everybody else) an incredible glimpse of who we all are. It puts a face on the awesome people coming here. It gives us a beautiful idea of the uniqueness and diversity of the followers here at SDL. More than anything, it shows all of us just how beautiful we each can be.
Anyway, thank you for sharing a small part of yourselves. It’s my honor to put the spotlight on you today. This is beautiful you.
If you’d like to send in photos to be considered for Sunday’s “This is beautiful you” and other future blog posts, please post them on the Facebook wall (we need lots more!). Sorry, emailed photos will not be considered. Only upload photos that you don’t mind me using, and that you have the rights to. The photos can be of yourself, or you with anybody that you love or are close to (kids, friends, significant others, parents, siblings, whoever!).
I wish I could post them all today. If your photo didn’t make it, check back next week! The picking process is 100% random.

PS. If you like this Sunday tradition, please share this page. Let’s make a lot of people happy today. We’d also love to have you find a way to follow us. We have a lot of fun around here.

The son watching his dad (big brother?) shave.
The dad with 2 little ones, getting ready for the hike.

I *love* the one of the dad showing his girly-girl how to help fix up his car/motorcycle/whatever they're working on. She cracks me up with her dress and necklace, and him showing her how to use the tools. LOVE IT.
My recent post Week In Review
I LOVE the girl dressed up looking at the car. See girls can do it all.
I love the girlie girl helping her daddy work on the car!
Love the one of the dad and his daughter tooling around the engine. And yes, the trampoline one with the kid on his face made me smile. :)
I loved the black and white picture of the now mommy with her new bundle of joy! It took me back to when my sweet girls were born!
HEY!! I made it on here!!!! YES!!! Thanks Dan, these posts always make me smile!!! My favorite is the one with the dad with 2 munchkins hanging on him, and the shaving one, along with the bride dancing with the I'm assuming grandfather, in the kilt!!
I adore the photo of dad teaching his little princess how to work on that car part. I truly ADORE that! That's a great dad!
the ones that made me the happiest are the ones with Dads and their kids.
Dan this is why I love SDL so much. You aren't just about yourself, spouting off what YOU have to say. You share this place with the people that love you (and even those that don't).
My recent post SOOC Saturday
I love the one with the dad/grandpa helping the bride with her veil...so touching. This is the best post EVER! Love all the joy in these pictures!
The pic of the dad and his son in his lap looking up at him. You can see the love in dads smile and eyes.
I love that you do this every Sunday...putting a face on those who come by.
The shot of the two shaving is awesome, as are so many others...

My two favorites were the mom & baby with their tongues out and the mom cuddling her newborn.?
aww, wow, these pictures make me melt!! :D
My recent post Apparently 9 in 10 Americans think their diet is healthy!
Love the one of the daughter in pearls fixing the engine with her Dad. That is my my girl does but with fairy wings on!
'This is Beautiful You' just makes my Sundays! I love the photos. Keep them coming!!
I like the dad and son shaving, just delightful! I had to teach my sons how to shave because their father was too busy and always closed the bathroom door for his privacy. I also taught them to drive, and amongst many other things, about wearing condoms, haha.
Oh well, these things have to be done eh?
haha the pic od the dad and his 3 boys just cracked me up, there faces and the little one on the floor, somehow i think they just did not want their pic taken :)
I love the one of the cute white couple with their beautiful black daughter in braids and beads. My husband and I are also transracial adoptive parents to 2 amazing kids. Their picture made my heart smile!
Thanks. :)
The dad in orange with a child in his arms and another on his back. I just melt at good involved daddy pics.
I love the one with the little princess, beads and all, working on the engine. It made me laugh out loud. Kudos to those parents for raising a well-rounded, empowered little girl. :-)
What Anna said. I especially love the look of patience and tenderness on the dad's face. He looks like he has every confidence in her skills. This little princess will grow up to be a very strong, self-assured young lady if her parents continue to parent her so well. To have the trust and confidence of a child's parents is a very powerful thing.
My recent post Growing Old Gracefully
That was my favorite too for the very reason you described.
I didn't see the ones you saw, Anna. I liked the one where the father is shaving with his son and the other with the daughter and father with the car engine and many more. I love seeing these photos. They make me smile!
My dad taught me the same skills :) Now, I can fix minor things and save tons of money. The BIGGEST plus, is I know what the mechanics are talking about and they can't feed me BS and up sell my car repairs!
Good job Dad!!
Hi Dan, I recently just found your blog and it is amazing. A picture does paint a thousand words. Thanks for sharing. Have a great week!
My recent post A Plain Evening Turns Extraordinary
Oh my goodness I LOVE the one of the dad on the trampoline with three boys... the faces and the little boy on his tummy made me belly laugh!! Thanks, these are great.
