Hugs.
Kisses.
They’re horrible, aren’t they?
Horrible tactics, anyway.
By kids .
Haha. I don’t know what it is, but every kid seems to eventually figure out that there is one way to always get out of just about anything! Noah just figured out the great power of hugs and kisses.
This is how it generally goes down.
“Noah, give me a big hug and run and get yourself down for a nap.” Said hug happens. Noah skedaddles six feet towards his bedroom and stops.

“Dad, I want to give you another hug.” He looks at me with those horribly enchanting big brown eyes of his.
“Okay, fine. One more hug.” Said hug happens. Noah skedaddles seven feet towards his bedroom and stops.
“Dad, I want to give you another kiss.” He looks at me with that impossibly charming little grin of his.
“Okay, fine. One more kiss.” Said kiss happens. Noah skedaddles eight feet towards his bedroom and stops.
“Dad, I don’t feel like I have enough hugs.” He looks at me with that damned cute little scrunched up nose of his.
“Nice try, Noah. Time for naps. Go lay down.” Time to be firm, Dad.
“But, Dad…” his damned cute little scrunched up nose scrunches up even further.
“Noah, you can’t always say that you need more hugs to keep from taking naps.”
Noah’s eyes look at me like I have betrayed him. I am starting to weaken. No. Time to be firm, Dad.

Kids will do that to you. Cherish these moments while they last because once they hit 10 or 11 hugs and kisses from mom or dad won't be cool any more.
all I have to say is SUCK IT UP! and i don't mean that in the mean way! I mean enjoy it and get as many hugs and kisses as absolutely possible! Usually when my kid tries this on me i tackle him onto his bed and squeeze him while kissing him all over his cute little face and then tickle him till we are both out of breath! them one more hug and kiss (our secret one, like a secret hand shake but cooler!) and a swat on the butt and a "Now go to sleep or I'll beat ya!" a chuckle and out!!!
Been there, done, that, still happens, and I wouldn't trade it for anything!
Kiddos grow up too fast, I'll take all the hugs and kisses and "You're the best"s as I can get.
Love it. I used to get bottom of the feet tickles. You can pay for back massages, facials, pedicures with nice massage, but you can't pay someone to tickle your back or feet. Is it so odd? lol!! So the kids would be hanging out on my bed, and I'd tell them that it's time to scoot, and they would innocently (or NOT so innocently) start tickling my feet. Then there would be no more talk of bed. Sometimes they'd get an extra 1/2 hour out of me!! Just until the tickles got lazy... :cP
My daughters the same those kids are too smart! When I'm trying to scold her for something she immediately says "I love you mommy" and kisses me which obviously makes me completely forget what I was even mad about!
That used to work for me all the damn time! but then I grew up... now it only works with my girlfriend... 7% of the time.
Too sweet! :) My nearly twenty-month-old loves giving out kisses! He gives them to just about anyone he knows now and every time we lay down for bed (if he is sleeping with me and his Daddy) he won't lay still until he gets kisses from us both! I love it!
Enjoy it while you can. My 18 year old daughter comes for more hugs now more than she did when she was younger, never the cuddle bug, not even when she was little. My son, however, was always a cuddle bug. But for boys especially, they hit a certain age where it's no longer cool to get hugs and kisses. My 15 year old will still get hugs at home, (but no more kisses, except the odd one on the cheek if I ask), and occasionally will still climb in my lap. Which is getting comical seeing as how he is suddenly taller than me. But in public? not even allowed to touch him!
My 3 year old daughter's list of "God Bless xxx" has been getting longer and longer in her efforts to delay bedtime. The other night she added "God Bless Talking Tom and God Bless the Angry Birds".
@Sprinkle Hahaha. Noah prayed for Angry Birds too. That those darn pigs would stop getting "trickier and trickier."
