Finally, my favorite post of the week! Every Saturday night I take some of the photos that you have uploaded to the Facebook wall, and I post them here. I love This is Beautiful You because it gives me (and everybody else) an incredible glimpse of who we all are. It puts a face on the awesome people coming here. It gives us a beautiful idea of the uniqueness and diversity of the followers here at SDL. More than anything, it shows all of us just how beautiful we each can be.
Anyway, thank you for sharing a small part of yourselves. It’s my honor to put the spotlight on you today. This is beautiful you.

Which photos made you the happiest today?
If you’d like to send in photos to be considered for Sunday’s “This is beautiful you” and other future blog posts, please post them on the Facebook wall (we need lots more!). Only upload photos that you don’t mind me using, and that you have the rights to. The photos can be of yourself, or you with anybody that you love or are close to (kids, friends, significant others, parents, siblings, whoever!).
I wish I could post them all today. If your photo didn’t make it, check back over the next few weeks! The picking process is 100% random.

PS. If you’re new here, we’d love to have you find a way to follow along. We have a lot of fun around here.

My daughter painted herself purple. Completely purple! I mean there were only a few spots of skin left. She wanted to look like Barney. She was only four and to this day is still quite the artist.
Love love the body painting picture! How many kids get to do that? It warms my heart to see a grownup doing something so fun and silly with a special kid. It's so easy to forget how to let go and be silly and messy. This reminds me that I need to loosen up a bit. Life's just too short to stay clean!
A Rich Man knows his true blessings are met in his needs, and not his wants, and that all he has been given comes from above.
The one of the mom watching her little one sleep touched my heart! I love moments like that!
All we need is to spring off, ensure that our off-sprung does the same, and decompose to that which they need to do the same for their offspring.
It's not the amount... It's about appreciation and gratitude. Also, the key is giving in equal measurement to what your receive. Balance.
Been with the same guy for 19 yrs. We're two imperfect people loving perfectly. Or something like that.

Sophia, that's how my kids live. Not the way I raised them, but I admire them so much....my son has no furniture and struggles every day but has the love of his life beside him ( I love her too) and my daughter has 3 kids and doesn't even want a microwave. Simplistic but full of love. I have what I want...but I'm alone....I need to learn more from my kids
Amen man I'm trying to get it whittled down to where I don't even need a job. yee haw!

This is so true. Someone just introduced me to your page. I love it. Single, gay dad here in Charlotte, NC. All these quote and articles etc. are exactly the kinds of things I share with all my friends and in classes I have taught all over the US. I wish Facebook had been around 13 years ago when I had just started raising my kids alone. Would have loved to start something like this. Great job! Keep it up and spread the word!
I think.....to see a perfect of imperfect person.......
I can personally attest to this. I have no car, no money, no jewels, no furniture other than a mattress on the floor, but I am the happiest, luckiest person I know. I have the most amazing love in my life and that's all I need! My life is a fairy-tale of simplicity and romance :)
But Dan......now, the fact of the richest man is who can ''buy'' the life of the others
Ditto the body painting one, that's awesome!!
Body painting with Grandpa!! How cool is that. What a memory for a little girl to have of her grandfather.
I think the greatest beauty is in the imperfections! <3
thank you, i think i needed to see that. i think i needed to be reminded once more that i am not the only one that sees people in a beautiful way. i needed to be reminded that although the world may try it's best to define the ways in which we can be "attractive" there is beauty in us all, and i'd like to think that comes from our ability to love. thank you once again <3 :)
I still haven't found my imperfect person! :(
Yay!...my pic was finally posted!
Beautiful! I love the Saturday photos!
Love that quote!!!
I loved the dad and daughter painting themselves~ what a beautiful, carefree moment!
Another good quote. :)
After losing my wife just over 2 years ago I have just found love again, wasn't even looking though
Love the lady with the hand sign "I love you ". That is beautiful.
Everyone's photos are all so beautiful, I may share some of me & my family soon!
I'm a new reader to your blog, but am coming to love TIBY also! :)
Love this! Had to steal it, thanks! :)
Love them all! Too hard to pick a favorite... How to i send a picture to be considered for The sunday post?
I loved the one with the woman signing I love you!! Made me smile and the grandpa with the baby! Thanks Dan have a great Sunday!
I like the one with the two kids in the leaves...I grew up thinking I had to be perfect...not get dirty...every hair in place. I love this because they are living in the moment and just having so much fun :)
I liked the photo where the dad is painting his body with his daughter. Nice to see so many smiling faces.
I loved the photo of the young woman in a bridal gown with an older man on one side of her and a little boy on the other. To me it told a story. She cares deeply about her son. She's starting a new life with a new man...or possibly having the wedding she and his dad missed having. Was he away in the service? And her dad leading her into her new life, loving her as his little girl, hoping for happiness for her...and for his grandson.
The one of the woman and little boy sitting on the railroad tracks was disturbing. She may know the tracks are no longer used but still.....
@SavedByGrace
I agree about the picture of the mom on the railroad tracks. I caught myself looking over her shoulder to make sure there was not a light of an oncoming train. LOL
