I keep having all sorts of PR firms send me “scare the crap out of you” content that they’d like me to share with you this weekend. With the Super Bowl going on, the fun-level will be at an all-time high. And so will the human stupidity level.
Instead of sharing any of that content (which quite frankly is enough to make you cry), let me just ask you all to have an amazingly awesome weekend. And be safe! Be stupid at your parties and get-togethers, not on the road. There are a lot of people out there who love their kids and wanna see them on Monday.
And remember, even when you’re not being stupid, other people still are. So drive with caution. I love y’all a little too much to lose any of you to drunk driving this weekend.
That’s all. I’m headed to Los Angeles for a press junket for The Lorax. I’ll be having plenty of fun being stupid with a bunch of mom bloggers. You’re all welcome to tag along, I’ll be tweeting about it. @danoah.
I’m outta here.

PS. Who are you all rooting for? And what are you doing to make it a blast?

Wait, there are people who go to Super Bowl parties to actually watch the Super Bowl? That's bizarre.
Gotta root for the Giants because it's all about NYC baby! And the fact that Victor Cruz is a local boy done good! I love stories like his. Due to the facts that I am really a Jets fan, there is no possible way in hell I can root for Brady and the Brats!
I love your posts!
the autobots....I'm going to have a 'Transformers' marathon.
There is no super bowl if the Steelers aren't in it!!!
not rooting for anyone. Don't care
Pats. And, nothing.
Three words: The Big Sandwich.
My Hub is still upset by the Packers loss to the Giants...The Big Sandwich is his only "reason" for watching the game (that and he loves football).
Making a big pot of chile and reading a book (hee hee)
OMG. Where are all the Giants fans. I didn't know anybody even liked the Pats.
none of my teams made it. I'm a hater of both that did so I'm ignoring it. I'll watch a breakdown of the best commercials on line on Monday.
I might live in Kansas right now but, I was born and raised in New England. My Daddy raised me right to be a Pats fan! I'm with you Tara. GO PATS!!!!
"It's just a game".... mmhm.. you would NOT believe (maybe you would?) the looks of shock and dismay I've received because of this statement. *shrug... Sorry, I just don't get (and probably never will) the hubub that surrounds sports- professional, "prep"/high school, little-kids (peewee, little league). Sure, athletics is great, but getting your panties in a bunch over who won/lost... *sigh
I don't like football. (gasp!) Saturday nights are my (almost) weekly night to get out of the house and away from the husband and son (because, let's face it, EVERY mom needs to get away sometimes) and play Iron Kingdoms for several hours with my nerd buddies. Iron Kingdoms is a steam-punk version of the table-top RPG known as Dungeons & Dragons. Yes, I am a nerd and no, I do not care. :D
I'm cheering for the Green Bay..oh, wait...we didn't make it to the Super Bowl. *sigh* We'll be eaing a ton of food that I will spend all day preparing...having famiy & a bunch of teens over to watch the game and then celebrate birthdays...two of our boys turned 19. Monday I'll be hungover with a mess of a house.
Football. That's the game where they throw around that oblong ball and call it a sport? Yeah, people ask constantly "What are you doing for the Super Bowl?" WORKING ... BILLING HOURS ... so I can go home and take my kids to see a Sabres game ... a real sport ... LET'S GO BUFFALO!!!! :-))
I am a die-hard Pats fan. I've lived about an hour outside of Boston my whole life. My husband is a die-hard Giants fan having grown up in NJ. we're just hoping to make it through the weekend still talking. That might be difficult after the Pats win, though... GO PATS !!!!!
I live in Indianapolis and spent the day at Super Bowl Village yesterday. It was a total blast. Lots more Giants fans and supporters. Of course, there's no love here for the Patriots. We all love the Mannings and want Eli's team to win. Go Giants!!!
My husband is overseas and I really only sorta care. The kids and I are decorating in red and blue since both teams have those colors. We're just getting some little pom poms and footballs for them to play with and decorating red and blue tye-dye cupcakes. Simple and fun, but not too much work for when the kids lose intrest and run off. Lol
Living in Maine, we gotta go with the Pats! Homemade Grande Nachos, Buffalo Chicken and Teriyaki Wings and some nice homemade macaroni and cheese with hot dogs for the kids.
I'm working. :o( Wasn't really looking forward to the game but was looking forward to family time.
Gotta go for the Pats. My kids dad is a yankee from Mass, and though none of us are into sports, when the Pats play we root for them.
I'm rooting for E-trade to have another great baby commercial! Oh, and since my best friend from college lives in Boston, I'm routing for the Patriots. Having said that, I take breaks during the play and sit through the commercials. ;-) Go E-TRADE!!!!!!!
Oh, Janice, you should have tried a nice chowdah, stuffies, and clam cakes....then some maple candies....and for the non-sea food eating crew, you could do some Gaggiz all the way...they go great with Baked Beans.
My Pats got this!!
Im rooting for Madona? is there really going to be a game?
I always cook the food of the competing cities/states. So this year it's New England Baked Beans and New York Deli style sandwiches! Our friends get into it as the teams narrow down because they can't wait to find out what's cooking. I don't really care about football, just the food. :D
Hockey is the only sport! :)
I'm rooting for the Patriots all the way! Even though I'm a 49ers fan.
Going to the local Eagles for a potluck with the kids, rooting for the Giants since my team didn't make it. Have a great weekend folks whatever you are doing!
I'm rooting for both teams, cause I don't care who wins. :)
I don't even know who's going.
LOVE this picture of you and Noah! As for Super Bowl weekend - blah! ;)
Living in Indianapolis this week is sucking. Traffic is horrible, so we are spending the weekend locked away inside to avoid all the idiots and drunks and such! :D
I work during the pregame but I will drive with caution >:D oh and bad drivers are scary.
Thx bunches for the good wishes.
I don't really care for sports, but being a New Englander (born and raised)....GO PATS!!
@danoah good thing I planned to stay home and work then where it is safe
