I don’t wanna brag, but I kind of do, too. I just became an uncle for the SEVENTH time.
This is my new niece Olivia. 18″ long, 5 lb. 13.7 oz.
If you ask me, she’s much too tiny to be a Pearce baby.
Congrats to my sister Emily and her husband Luis. May the odds be ever in their favor.
As for me, I really need people to stop having babies. Every time I hold one I get seriously baby hungry.

PS. Do new babies make any of you baby hungry, too?
I do sometimes get baby hungry, which is awkward since I'm THIS close to being divorced. Luckily for me I have enough siblings and friends still having babies that there is always one available for me to love, and then give back.
Yes, indeed. You're definitely not the only one. Fortunately for me, my daughter is having a baby in December so my family will ALL get to do the wonderful NEW baby thing for Christmas.
She's beautiful! <3 None of my 3 brothers have children, and I'm afraid none of them will. I would LOVE to have a niece or nephew to spoil, and the kids would love to have cousins. I have 18 cousins on my dad's side of the family, and I miss that for my own kids. My husband's sister has one daughter, and when we see her it's nice, but they live in Kansas (and we're in California), so it's very, very, very rare. Congrats to your family!
People having babies used to make me baby hungry, but now I have five homeschooled kids of my own and am living with psoriatic arthritis (which in the past year and a half had me going from hiking 7 miles with a 25 pound child on my back to using two canes or a wheelchair). I'm done having children of my own, but still get to enjoy babies by babysitting friends' babies. It helps that we've had a baby in our house once or twice a week since September of last year and once he reaches toddlerhood, will have a baby girl from another family in our house up to four days a week. It's nice to be able to give them back at the end of the day. :)
I had serious baby fever until my youngest was about 3 yrs. old. By then I was past 40 and in no shape physically or financially for more. Nowadays, I get a kick out of my neighbors' babies and toddlers, and dream about my future grandma days. (Not for quite a while yet, though!)
Congratulations, Uncle Dan!! With ten babies under my belt, I think I've had my fair share of sleepless nights and diapering ... but I certainly still love to borrow peoples babies (and then give them back!) Who doesn't get wistful when they see a new baby, or cute little sleepers and booties, or pictures of little ones? Babies are such a nice way to start people :)
Omg yes! I'm at the age now where most of my friends are popping out babies and it's wreaking havoc on my ovaries!
People having babies makes me so baby-hungry that it's downright painful. Walking past baby items in stores makes me crave a little one to snuggle... it's just... gah. Ridiculousness. I have a lot of friends starting families right now so it's constant-baby-craving over here. Not in the cards for me for at least two years though, still have to finish school and get my career going. Plus a wedding in there somewhere would be ideal. Blarghwarghl.
I definitely don't get baby hungry, but that's probably because I'm not married or done with medical school yet. I was actually very relieved when my younger brother had the first grandchild for my parents 14 months ago-- that took the heat off me! Now to figure out how to get the heat about getting married off my back... Also, my friend's mom just became the grandmother to her 23rd grandchild! How crazy is that?!
Congrats on your niece, she's precious!
Love babies but no, they do not make me hungry.
Love the new hair! I am glad to see you get rid of the point. guess I'm just old - never liked that style.
hahhaah! my best friend is baby crazy! she keeps tellin me i need to hurry up n get married so i can have more babies! well she just had her 4th on my birthday 12 weeks ago! i keep telling her i'll consider more when she stops!!!! lol
Ha! I got you beat! I became an uncle for the eighth time on easter. And I'm thirteen. :D Congratulations on your new niece! She is sooo cute!!!!!!!!!
Nope. I just have to remember the sleepless nights, over flow poops, and such. I am happy to hold and return.
Very happy for you buddy she is beautiful. You have to be proud. So how many xmas gifts do you gotta buy now!?????
Not surprising you get baby fever looking at that wee bundle of gorgeousness! I no longer get baby fever as I have three kids....huge handful kids with health problems, I couldn't do it. But I love to cuddle my friends babies and then hand them back! Congratulations on the newest family arrival!
I have those feelings for a moment or two, then I remember what I went through with mine and also the fact I'm sliding into forty and I don't think I am able to chase the crumbsnatchers anymore.
Oh HELL NO!!!!! After four of my own, including twins at 35, they are always more beautiful in the arms of another woman!!!! Don't mind holding one every now and then though ;)
I'm in a constant state of baby fever. Especially now that my youngest isn't a baby anymore at almost 2.
I just had my 6th grandbaby Saturday. I used to get baby hunger when I was younger (and I gave birth to 4!). Now, I just love those grandbabies and go home :)
My sister Martha is currently in labor. I was talking to my Dad on the phone and with his having 8 kids my Dad goes through several names before he gets mine right. My step mother asked who was on the phone. My Dad answered, "It's Martha" who was in the hospital bed next to him in labor. Even in labor, I wish I was Martha about to give birth to a new baby. My kids are turning 19, 17 and almost 15. I'd rather skip empty nest if I could!
Being a single mom and having a hard enough time with just one, I do not get baby fever when I see a newborn. I've also decided I never want more kids. Ever.
Yes.... For about 15 minutes.... Then I'm over it. I like my sleep and I love that my son likes his sleep too!
There's no limit on love, in that way you CAN have plenty. But for someone like you who actually enjoys the heck out of his kid, stick with one if possible. A second detracts forever from the devotion you can give to one. Ok it's possibly unhealthy to give all that devotion to one child - potentially setting them up for disastrous relationships in adulthood as nobody will give them that level of adoration again... But having been so close to my first and losing so much of it when the second came, I recommend stopping now! I adore #2 and wouldn't go back but there's still a grief for what it cost and a guilt that #2 didn't get that same experience...
I held a brand-new Olivia too last night! She was a bit bigger though, at 9 pound 5oz. She had that seriously addictive baby smell and when I tried to sneak out with her, for some reason her parents objected!!! So yes, I've been left feeling very baby hungry.
aaaw and yes I would love another baby. But having my two to base that on, it woulnd't be difficult. I got extrememly lucky on the baby front and don't want to chance a third not being like the two I already have lol
