Yesterday I talked about how I felt like I was supposed to get stuck on that mountaintop so that I could actively give up a part of my life to volunteer for Search and Rescue for years to come.

But Kelsey and Reuben and I have all decided that there might be another reason it happened. A bigger reason.

Maybe we’re supposed to find Nort Colvin Wilf McDaniel.

Of all the places we could have gotten stuck and had to wait for help (for several hours), the forces that be put us right in front of an Aspen tree that Nort carved his name on sometime in the last few years.

Was it a sign? Is this a person that has something for us? A message perhaps? An opportunity? A bucket full of gold?

If you know Nort, please tell us so that we can get to the bottom of this.

A thorough Google search brought up no clues. If Nort’s out there, it’s gonna take some work to find him.

PS. Any other theories about Nort or the fact that we had to stare at his name for hours?
