A fire on the Alpine Mountains (in the very place that the upcoming rescue post takes place) is racing toward my parents ’ home. Let’s hope the night winds are kind to us. We were watching the fire from the yard but were evacuated a couple hours ago, so we don’t know what’s going on right now.
Here are a whole bunch of pictures from today of what they’re calling the Quail Fire.

Hoping the flames stay away from your parents' home. That's frightening... I wish you rain, and lots of it! (But not too much because that'd cause lots of issues of its own)

My friends were just evacuated from the same fire. Seems like the whole state is on fire right now. Makes the sounds of fireworks much more terrifying right now.

wow - scary! Will say a prayer for them & all those in danger from those fires! we were out there a week ago & it was scary then. I can't imagine how it is now!!
