With a new home, fewer expenses, less stress, and a general new beginning in place for us, I’ve decided it’s time to step it up as a blogger.
So, I’ve made some goals. And I’ve read enough motivational books to know that a goal isn’t a real goal unless it’s written down and shared with others.
So, I’m going to do just that, today over the last few afternoons I’m going to share some of my better blogger goals with you all. I hope you’ll give me feedback as to whether or not those goals will make this blog a better experience for you!
GOAL #6: Stop working so much on stuff people don’t care about.
I know that the vast, vast, vast majority of you don’t care about my satire blog. I know that almost none of you care about my blog about blogging. You all started reading my stuff for Single Dad Laughing, and I need to remember that and stop spending so much time on those, and more time with the people that support me most.
My satire blog is supposed to be my fantastic escape when real life blogging gets heavy. Not a money maker. I need to remember that.
My blog about blogging is supposed to talk about the dynamics I experience writing a big blog and share my secrets for building a big blog. It’s not supposed to be one of those blogs about blogging whose sole goal is search engine hits and affiliate revenue. I need to remember that.
Less time on the things I started as side hobbies, and more time here means better, more meaningful content on SDL. And that can’t be a bad thing, right?
What I could use from you: a back rub would be nice. For realsies.
Dan Pearce, Single Dad Laughing
