I just wanted to pass this letter along to all of you which was delivered with a plate full of homemade Snickerdoodles. From Camilia, the daughter of Martin and Jackie who we all gave our $10,000 gift to.

I ate all the Snickerdoodles. Sorry, I should have shared them with all of you. Sorry about that.

I don't know about anyone else, but I am pretty bummed about the snickerdoodles...
This is great! What I like about your blog (and what I believe keeps people coming back) is the diversity in posts. Some I don't agree with and others I whole heartedly support! This is one of them! Good work.
TY so much Dan for sharing this and allowing all of us in fb-land to be a part of it. HALLELUJAH!!!!!!!!!
Totally awesome..I am so glad I could be a part of this!

Good job, Dan.
an attitude of gratitude is always a beautiful thing
Woo Hoo! My small $5 donation wasn't much but it made me feel good to help out and it still amazes me that $20,000 was collected in a weeks time! Thank You Dan for such a wonderful idea and for sharing this opportunity with us, it is nice to see how many caring people are out there and are willing to help someone they don't even know.....:)

I hate to admit it, Dan, but I think you're right.... That was no coincidence. You were MEANT to be bitten by that dog. You changed their lives for the better because of it. Thanks for allowing us to be, in some small way, a part of such awesome change, hope, and love in this world! XOXO

Wait 'til those girls grow up to be super-star-pay-it-forwarders themselves.

Thank you Dan for letting me be part of this wonderful gift for your neighbours. They sound like an amazing family and I hope all the best for them as Jackie recovers from her cancer and treatments. I pray that Martin, Camilla and Stephani are able to get the support they need day to day. Thank you again!
She is above and beyond welcome......... was a pleasure to help people that truly needed it! I am grateful to you Dan for letting me and my daughter be a part of something that otherwise we'd never even have known about!

A beautiful letter.
I love you Dan...for making me remember the important things in life.
I just love this and I too have also felt that through this act, my faith in humanity has been restored a bit. It is wonderful to know that human beings can come together at a time of need and still be able to work together. After reading some scary political posts just before the holidays, I was wondering if something like this would ever be possible again. For that, I thank you, Dan as well as every single one of your blog readers and especially those that contributed, even if it wasn't monetary, for prayers, thoughts and kind words are just as touching and meaningful.
I think that this family and what we did, collectively, for them restored ALL of our faiths in humanity. I'm more than sure they'll use it wisely.
