Here she is in all her glory.
I need your help naming her. She’s a Harley-Davidson 2013 Softail Heritage. I’ll pick my favorite four names you come up with and we’ll all vote over on the Single Dad Laughing Facebook wall tomorrow.
The dealership dropped it off this morning. The odometer read 0000001. I was trying to maintain my cool as they unloaded it for me. Inside I was doing backflips with excitement.
As soon as they were gone, I climbed on the bike and shifted its weight back and forth. Then, I took it on its maiden voyage.
The awesomeness of the trip can be summed up with one story.
I pulled into a parking lot filled with cars and turned the bike off. Just then, a minivan pulled in next to me. A little girl who couldn’t have been older than four hopped out of the side facing me. Her mom showed up from the other side of the van.
“Is that a motorcycle?” the little girl asked her mom.
Her mother looked at the bike and then at me. She said, “that’s not just any motorcycle, honey. That’s a Harley.”
I wanted to word-vomit my excitement all over them. “I JUST GOT IT TODAY! IT’S MY FIRST RIDE ON IT! I’M SO EXCITED!!!”
Instead, I just laughed, nodded my head, and said, “yes it is.”
I’ve been waiting 20 years for today. It’s a good day.
Now… what should I name her?
