I’m not a player, I just klutz a lot.
At least that’s what you’d think if you read all of my “Life is good” posts over on the Single Dad Laughing Facebook page.
Seems I’m always making messes, always getting hurt, always doing stupid things, always a greater part of those unfortunate series of events.
But come on… a klutz?
Okay, maybe sometimes.
Like when I recently stumbled into the kitchen, put a K-Cup into my Keurig, and hit the button to start brewing my morning Joe.
I left it there to brew that cup of liquid gold while I went and got my breakfast stuff out of the fridge. Eggs. Ham. Almond milk. Maybe some…
What was that?
I spun around to the sound of a slow and discomforting splashing sound. There was the Keurig, brewing away, dumping my coffee into my nice tall… nothing.
Yes, my friends, I forgot to put a mug there to catch the coffee, and I brewed myself an entire 20 ouncer right onto my countertop.
That was definitely klutzy.
And so was the time I forgot to put the lid on the blender.
My God, I still have nightmares about that. It took me months to finally stop seeing the dried leftovers in nooks and crannies of my kitchen.
But the rest of the time? I’m hardly klutzy at all.
I’m just busy. I just tend to live life.
I am always running around pushing myself to the brink of sanity as I try and complete my daily to-do list (which includes fun things, too!)
I don’t tend to loaf around watching TV all day. I like to get out and about and see the world and experience it. I like to try new things.
This means I’m always going to be on a learning curve because every new thing comes with a handful of potential mistakes any person can make.
I like to cook. I like to experiment with my cooking.
This means I’m going to get burnt once in a while. Literally. Or slice myself. Or have fantastic disasters.
