One of the best parts of being a professional blogger is that you get a lot of free stuff. One of the most annoying parts of being a professional blogger is that you get a lot of free stuff. I know. Woe is me. Just watch the video.
Dan Pearce, Single Dad Laughing
PS. What do you think? Is this an interesting and entertaining enough video to warrant making a new one every couple months? Or was it overly boorish?

Hi, I was just wondering what the name of those adjustable ear plugs is. I couldn't quite make it out on the video and think they would really come in handy with my four year old son who has sensory issues with loud noises. Thanks!
Great video but instead of throwing it in the trash, please donate those things. It could go for good use some way or another LOL
This made me laugh! Thanks I needed that! And I am totally jealous about the ipad ;-)
It was interesting to see what people have sent you, but I think this video may put off anyone who was/is thinking of sending you something...
Ok Dan, it's official. I totally love you, you're so FUN! We would totally hang out in real life - move to Fargo, will ya? :P
Fun to watch. Seriously though, you could donate your baby stuff to a woman's shelter and they'd love it.
fun!
LOVED the video! Isn't it amazing the completely random things people will send? LOVED the silence while showing the NIX... Just keep quiet and eat your pizza. hahaha And I LOVED that you shared it with your dog! (cute puppy lol) Best part of the video? The Red Sox hat!
<3 it ! The little "ditty" playing in the background is a perfect addition to your amusing and occasionally snarky comments. Keep the vids comin' !
I love the sound of Budda smelling the pizza!!
You do get some random stuff, but anything you don't want you can send my way!
Hey - enter my Giveaway if you want more free stuff- and it might even be useful free stuff if you've got a kid... details on mrsdressup.wordpress.com/
I work for a family magazine and even spoke to an Apple PR rep (after MANY hours of searching) and she was actually eating while telling me how UN-important I was. LOL
So, yeh, Apple does not give free stuff. Unless you're Oprah - and even she had a hard time.
You could give things away to your readers! :-)
um, i really don't enjoy the video blog entries as much as the written ones. sorry. and i would have said donate the stuff you don't need but 5000 people beat me to it. i did like the idea of "giveaways" - you could raffle off the stuff and we'd be happy to pay shipping. ;) happy turkey eve!
i have to say cake mix cookies are great. i was in need of a quick something for my son to take to school one day and noticed that they had a recipe on the side of the box to turn the cake into cookies. needless to say they were a hit with a bunch of 5 and 6 year olds. plus hunter loved helping to make them!
Our local food bank said they are in dire need of lice treatments for the kids they provide for - donate it!
Very funny
LOL...
I soooooooo needed this today! I love the video! now I know what faces go with most of your blogs. : ) oh my gosh, "Nix sent me lice treatment, thanks Nix!"
Why do they send you old people stuff and girly stuff!? Someone has a weird sense of humor! :D
Lol. Great video.
my favorite is when you hold up the little pants with tassles on them. or whatever the heck they were. You didn't say anything, because the silence said it all :)
Anyone who has a sense of humor gets in trouble for it. Not everyone gets it.
My sense of humor gets me in trouble at least once a week. :)
This video had me dying. Lol
Love the video keep them coming!!! This video reminds me of a saying my dad would say... One mans crap is another mans treasure... I love how you talk so highly about your boy... you light up every time.. He is one lucky dude to get some of that crap also!!! lol also another quick idea... for the cool crap... make a blog of their names so we can get that crap also.. (I want one of the nigh lights!!!)
OK Dan, you can totally send the Barbie's and Cashmere blanket my way. I have a 2 year old {Reina Ivy} with a birthday on Dec 11th turning 3~ :) The Cashmere would be for me, of course... Donate the rest to other people who need it. Homeless shelters and Noah's Dr.'s office might like some of the books. I loved the video! Have fun moving!
It looks like you have a lot of great holiday gifts! I know that's what I would do with a lot of that stuff! I do agree with others though, don't trash things - donate them!
I totally want to send you something like cookies now. :D
@AlysiaSmithCarew C is for cookie, that's good enough for me!
@Single Dad Laughing They might be crumbs by the time they got all the way there from here. :) C would be for crumbs.
I admit it, I had fun watching that video! Instead of throwing out things you can't use (the pink cashmere blanket... the baby stuff) look for a group called MOPS in your area, and see if they have any TEEN MOPS groups... the teen mom really need that stuff. Call goodwill or salvation army... whatever... share it... don't trash it! (MOPS = Mothers of Pre Schoolers)
that blanket looks cozy........................I know what to do with it...........use it! Who cares if it's pink
funny. and have to mention, i love the shirt... (best band ever) :)
Hysterical. More!
Ok Dan, this was a humorous vlog but WAY too long. May I suggest you also lose the music too? Also, I am hearing impaired so... captions? (I know, that may be asking a load).
Anyway, donate everything, there is someone, somewhere that would simply like to have it all.
Peace...Happy Thanksgiving.
@Naila Moon If you are hearing impaired and require captions, how did you even know there was music?
I hope you were kidding about throwing some of that stuff away. If you don't need it try "Freecycle.com". You post what you don't need and people who want the item contact you via email or the internet. Very cool. I used this when downsizing our house and was amazed at the things people would take. Much better than sending things to our overfilled dumps.
You are hilarious...I will take that Lego Idea book..my husband must be a super turd nerd..he loves Lego and so does my son!
Hey Dan...I have an idea for your video plan...how about conversation blogging...you make a video with one of your many heartfelt ideas and thoughts, and then people send in video responses and thoughts that you could post at your discretion. I agree with someone else below who mentions that the video is great because it makes you more real and you are a delightful human being!! Just a thought.....kind of video chat on a grand scale. ( I know someone will probably say this is going on somewhere....but I've not seen it, so I'm stating it as an idea!!)
Loved the video and keep the Wikki Stix! We took them with us on the drive from DC to Disney and my 8 year old step-son loved them. He made a turtle that then stayed on the car window the rest of the trip. They are basically yarn dipped in wax and it sticks to itself, mirrors, windows, and walls without ruining the surface. So much fun for Noah to decorate his new room himself. http://www.wikkistix.com/ Thanks for the fun video Dan!!!
@AprilLutz I was looking through comments just to see if someone else educated Dan on the Wikki Stix. These are so great for times when you have to be a bit quiet. My oldest is 19 now, but we've had Wikki Stix around since she was one!
Take them out and start fooling around with them, they really are wonderful.
Why don't more people tell him to donate the stuff he doesn't want, its a really original suggestion and he obviously can't read or think for himself. Thats sarcasm btw :)
I couldn't open the video on my phone but sounds good, worthy of booting up the laptop do you all think?..
Yes, donate whatever you don't want! I loved it when Buddha 'talked' Dan out of his piece of pizza!
It was good! I enjoyed watching it. Was there down time? Yes but perfect timing for the laughter to quiet down. Please update the new "crap" you get!
ok, Dan, I quit watching before the halfway mark, because I cant' understand what you're saying, and neither can your closed caption transcriber. Also I can't actually SEE what your stuff is very well. So hey, I wish it woulda worked out better for me.
I got dibs on the pink blanket ;) LOL
Cracks me up.
The music cracks me up! I also got a kick out of whomever was running the camera....you could faintly hear them trying to contain their laughter. It was VERY entertaining! Thanks for the video...=)
This was outstanding.... I particularly liked the music. I just wish I would get all that free stuff for my writing :)
