It started with one “wrong number.”

There was this girl that I met. We hit it off pretty well. Well enough that she asked for my number. And for some reason I was in a funny mood, so I gave it to her.

Well, most of it.

I gave her the first nine digits, and told her if she really wanted to find me, she would send something absolutely hilarious to all ten numbers she had to choose from. She accepted the challenge and a couple hours later I got a text that said, “So, Dan does have an STD. Very sad. He’s the best Gaston looking, karaoke singer guy I’ve met in a long time. Not to mention his extra nipple, to die for. That is all.”

Hahaha. We’ve been friends ever since.

And that text got me to thinking… What would random strangers reply if they got a random text from an unknown number.

217 wrong numbers. That’s how many texts I sent. But instead of the type of text I dared her to send, I decided on a more upbeat and positive one.

I chose known prefixes for cell phones in my area, and I sent the message out (a labor of love that took much longer than I anticipated, LOL).

Most of those I sent it to either didn’t reply or simply told me I had the wrong number. This pretty much sums up those ones:

85% of replies:

Some replies were a little (or a lot) more incredible, hilarious, or powerful than that.

Here are 20 of them.
